Beem Credit Union Unplug and Play Family Literacy Week
January 20, 2025
January 25th to February 1st 2026 is Family Literacy Week. January 27th, 2026 will be observed as Family Literacy Day. This year’s Family Literacy Week theme is “Make Mealtime, Family Learning Time”.
“Family literacy refers to the way parents, children, and extended family member use literacy at home and in the community. Family literacy occurs naturally during the routines of daily living and helps children and adults get things done.” – Hayden, R. & Sanders, M. (2007).
“Strong communities begin with strong families, Beem is proud to continue our long-standing support of Unplug and Play, an event that brings families and communities together year after year. It’s a wonderful reminder to slow down, spend meaningful time together, and focus on what really matters. Supporting initiatives like this is how we help our communities thrive,” Brian Harris, CEO of Beem Credit Union.
