Current Programs

CALP Community Adult Learning Program

  • Receive one-to-one tutoring for 1-3 hours a week.
  • Meet at a time that works for yourself and your tutor: days, evening or weekends.
  • Meet together at the Literacy Society or in any public place.
  • Lessons are tailored to each person, you decide what you want to study.

LINC Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada

  • Free Adult English Classes and Introduction to Canadian Society & Culture
  • LINC classes are free for permanent residents and refugees.
  • Free ESL is also available for provincial nominees, care aides and Canadian Citizens.

ESL Conversation Circle

  • Fun, informal and interactive circle aimed for anyone that desires to improve their English and meet new people
  • Held at Fort St. John Literacy Society every first Friday of the month 1-3pm

ESL Women’s Conversation Circle

  • Fun, informal and interactive circle aimed for newcomer women that desire to improve their English and meet new people
  • Held at Fort St. John Literacy Society.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

  • This program provides one FREE book a month to children aged 0-5 years old.
